5 Road Trip Essentials: Traveling with Dogs!

1. Dog Bed (Designed for a Car)

This dog bed buckles into the car’s back seat, making any road trip comfortable! The zippers along the sides allow you to easily remove the soft cover and clean it in the washing machine. The bed is large and is recommended for dogs under 55 lbs. Our two dogs (20 & 35 pounds) love cuddling up in the dog bed on road trips!

2. Dog Seat Cover - Waterproof Hammock

Using this cover in my backseat has single-handedly saved my backseat from being an absolute mess! If your dog sheds or gets car sick, this cover will prevent the dog hair from sticking to your seats and protect your seats from any results from doggy sickness! The cover straps around each headrest creating a hammock that prevents your dog from jumping into the front seat. If that’s not a problem, you can just clip in the straps to the backseat’s headrest, still protecting your seats! I find it nice when giving the dogs a quick drink of water if the water gets on the seat it wipes right off!

3. Collapsible Bowls for Food & Water

Keeping these collapsible bowls in your car comes in handy when your dog starts to get restless in the car! I always keep these bowls as well as water bottles stocked in the cup holders in the backseat. Whenever we stop on a road trip, I make sure to get these bowls out and offer the dogs food and water. They are great to have because they take up very little space compared to traveling with a full-size food/water bowl.

4. Dog Seat Belt

Many people believe you should transport dogs as you should people, and that includes hooking them in with a seatbelt. Each family is different when it comes to traveling with your dog but for safety precautions, I recommend at least having this dog seat belt in your car. This seatbelt clips from your dog’s harness/collar and into the same buckle that we use for seat belts. For more information on dog safety, check out this article!

5. Poop Bags

 Sometimes when you gotta go you gotta go… I’m talking about your dogs (do not recommend for human usage). Amazon is THE place to buy dog poop bags, you can buy lots of bags for a cheap price! Don’t rely on truck stops or gas stations to provide dog poop bags. Trust me, you will NEED these!
